Mardi Himal via Poon Hill is an excellent choice for trekkers who want variety in scenery and cultural exposure, but still want a moderate trek in terms of difficulty. You start by witnessing the famous Poon Hill sunrise over Dhaulagiri and Annapurna, then continue through off-the-beaten-path routes to the Mardi Himal Base Camp area. It's a less crowded, more scenic version of the classic Annapurna routes.
This is a hybrid trekking route that combines the lush forests, rhododendron blooms, and sunrise panorama of Poon Hill with the high-altitude ridgeline and close-up views of Machapuchare (Fishtail) on the Mardi Himal trail. You'll pass through traditional villages, beautiful forest trails, alpine landscapes, and reach stunning viewpoints.
